The Sahabat MENTARI program was established in 2022 by the MENTARI
Petra Jaya unit of Sarawak General Hospital. It aims to encourage community
participation in supporting the promotion of mental health and emotional well-being.

Vision and Mission:

1. Vision:

To become the main support resource for mental health
awareness and well-being in the community.

2. Mission:

a) Encourage involvement in mental health activities within
the community.

b) Reduce stigma towards mental health patients.

c)Assist in promoting mental health awareness.

d) Strengthen personal
development and emotional well-being of volunteer members.

Among the programs that have been conducted:

1. High Tea with Sahabat MENTARI members

2. Community Outreach Program at Kampung Tabuan Dayak, Lundu

3. Family Link Program ‘Circle of Hope 2.0’

Recently, Sahabat MENTARI Jatidiri Program was held on May 23, 2024 which involved new members. The purpose of this program is to enhance emotional
management skills, strengthen social relationships, and reduce stigma towards mental health patients.
